A scoping study was carried out to ascertain interest in a community run native plant restoration group in the Cromwell area. This was generously funded by Te Kākano made possible from a grant from the Central Otago Pinot Noir Charitable Trust.
2016
Mōkihi Trust formed and 5 Trustees appointed.
Landscape plan for Richards Beach developed.
May: First plants planted at Richards Beach. 473 planted for the year.
2017
A further 974 plants planted at Richards Beach.
A trailer and tank purchased to enable water drums to be filled.
Assistance with NZ Corrections to clear areas of exotic weeds for planting at Richards Beach.
A joint project with Cromwell Rotary to develop a further planting at Richards Beach.
2018
A second site at the 45th parallel walking track car park was developed with 154 plants planted. A further 1051 plants planted at Richards Beach.
2019
A total of 1214 plants planted with 479 volunteer hours. A new small site developed in conjunction with NZMCA site, just north of 45th Parallel. Continued and expanded involvement with community and educational groups, like Rotary, William Pike Challenge, Duke of Edinburgh
